hot summer nites

i can't seem to cool down this week. i go to sleep hot, i wake up hot. i'm hot most of the day unless im freezing in the office. i should go jump in the springs at 9pm, ride home and go to bed. i did that last year a few times. its good. course, right now i rush home to watch the tour. i like bike racing, watching them suffer for something they love to do. the crowds, the scenery, liggett and sherwen. ok and even bob roll's manic hand gestures and goofy grin. yesterday's stage in the pyrennes seemed to go on forever and was like a death march at times. yet when they are ready to go, it seemed unreal that they could turn the pedals over so fast up the mountain. then the one by one dropping off the end begins...cracked faces. but they will be at the start line the next day.

i saw nick the other day after a full day of messengering. he looked tired and hot too. said he found a swimming pool at 3rd and IH35 therebouts with noone in it cept the lifeguards. i can't think of ever seeing this pool. he said he did a run from town to manchaca and ben white at 3pm the other day. ouch. then i saw ben the messenger last nite at wheatsville and he was about to get some food in him after a good day of riding. summer in austin has to be tough for messengers.

fotoblog up. we did a polvos run on tuesday. was good stuff. and i drank too many margaritas. but u know: its hot in austin.

polvos - the south 1st street mecca the ride home begins...

3 1/2 margaritas later

chrissy can ride home with me now, cuz she moved close by.

chrissy joins me

we stopped for the moon.

there was a game of handball going down at fresh plus. everything seems so surreal when your riding home inebriated.

there was a game of handball at fresh plus

so i figure i'll ride over to whits place. harass him some...

then i have a brilliant idea to ride over to whits house

finally after riding back up to UT to get my laptop and then realizing once there that i dont have my keys to get inside the office and riding back home....feet firmly planted on the ground. ya and with the artistic camera strap in the foto too. that was fun. but the next day hurt. just a little.

home. and feet firmly planted on the ground
