blackeye's and north winds

i titled this: you gotta try harder than that to keep blackeye ben down. before the friday the 13th race, ben was telling me his story of getting hit by a car that was coming out of a sidestreet on duval around 2am one nite. he got knocked unconscious and the car didn't stop. there was a cop down the road at a convenience store and ben got them to take him and his bike home. the next day when we woke up to a melon size head, he went to the ER and found out his jaw was broke up a bit. thankfully, he is ok and back on the bike. seems to have taken it in stride. but still aint no kind of fun.

all the rest of the photos from patrick's fun friday the 13th race will be up this weekend. they get crazier as the nite went on. since alcohol consumption was high as the hours and destinations piled up. funny how that happens.

i hear the movies at turd thursday waterloo cycles was good. i missed it due to riding 3 hrs beforehand and being a bit sweaty and cold. road home, got a shower, got some dinner and chilled out. im the worst with big changes in the weather. i welcome the fall...some change...beanie hats and scarfs again. but shit. ok you northerner's close your eyes. i was in a beanie and scarf tonite when i rode my dog on his little bike ride in 65 degree weather. i got ridiculed last year for wearing mittens when it was 60. i think it stays hot here so long that it takes me a long time to adjust to colder, er...i mean cooler weather.

this time when i rode my south austin loop almost to buda i was not riding into south hairblower air. nope it was very still all the way south. then minute i turned around to head north and back to town.....ahh.....so THAT'S what a north wind sounds like. cool. i like it. ya, i'm the one in mittens.

you can feel free to wear your mittens anytime you like! it's been in the 30s up here in iowa and i'm certainly wearing mine!

peace out, yo!
