when good dogs go sideways

my dogs were playing and got stuck to the wall.

HURRAH.the dog fighting bill got passed *strengthens the laws against illegal dog fighting by increasing the penalties for the crimes of dog fighting* (duh i mean....c'mon. how hard was that to decide) by unanimous vote. and i heard back from the govt. guy i emailed about the safe passing law. he said it wasn't up (huH?? i got lots of emails about contacting them cuz it was up for vote that day) BUT that he would definitely support it when it came on the table. thought that was nice to reply back to me.

ya i know it wont stop cyclists from getting pushed off the road or worse....but its something in place that can be referred to if needed if you are hit and pressing charges and stuff. plus, after time, my hope is that motorists will become aware of the law and why it is in place and important and begin to respect the cyclists on the road and their *small* space as we move along with traffic. that is always most of my worse encounters with traffic is being passed WAYWAY too close when just moving over a little to give me some breathing room makes a world of difference and is not a hard thing for the motorist to do. its a courtesy and an acknowledgment of both our places on the road. co-existing. nicely.
